Omg, last years game's sound track was terrible. What kind of music was that? The counting song, where they literally just count 1-2-3-4-5. Then repeat. Some of the songs the guy starts whining, eww. But basically the alt rock type is fine, just better songs.

What artist(s) would you like to hear on next years MLB Soundtrack? Okay... in my opinion, baseball music should be more Rock (preferrably alternative) oriented, and not heavy metal/techno/rap/hip-hop oriented. Just my opinion.
That said, here are a few that come to mind:
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge
John Fogerty - Centerfield
Fastball - Morning Star
The Ataris - So Long, Astoria
Incubus - Drive
Trapt - Headstrong
Staind - Run Away
Nickelback - Rockstar
And probably a lot more. I just can't think right now.

Definitely rock.
OK Go. Theyre one of my favorite, and if was going to get this game, I would want them
on the soundtrack. Way to go CoolManJoe24.
Red Hot Chili Peppers. Anything off their newest CD. Stadium Arcadium was
awesome.
Anything else rock. Not the hard/metal kind either.

I'd also have another two RHCP songs in Snow and Dani California. Even better if each one was only played in certain situations like if it was snowing or you're playing as a California team. Of course the songs are good enough on their own so you guys at 2K don't need to do that.

By the way my kittens... as far as I'm concerned, not one of our song wishes made it into this game. Guess it was just to let post and leave toast. :(
EDIT: Ha! Never realized this was for 2K8, not 2K7.
Okay, I'll compile a list of a few songs through all of my lists and a few additions, and I'll re-post 'em.

acdc - hells bells (for closers)
metallica - enter sandman (also for closers)
What people should really do is listen to what they have in stadiums & incorporate it to the games... IE Fenway Park - Sweet Caroline at the 7th inning stretch, Dropkick Murphys - Tessie, Standells - Dirty Water

I know this isnt really a new addition but i'd like to see the 2k theme song get reworked. It has a good basis but it need more punch. The current version is too flat. Bring it up to speed with something like ESPN baseball theme then it would really shine.

Oh, and after playing ASB '05 for the first time, I noticed some of the menu music that they had, and I noticed that one nice suave style that could work for a baseball game for the menus is music similar to what you hear in the background of Ocean's Eleven or Ocean's Thirteen (haha probably not Ocean's Twelve). You would know what I'm talking about if you've seen the movies. They would work quite well.

What happened to player music...like when a batter comes up to bat or a pitcher comes out of the bullpen. Plus it would be nice if we could use custom soundtracks for that stuff like we used to have on the old Xbox. I believe it was MLB 2k5 that had all that good stuff. It kinda sucks that you cant add your own songs to the Stadium songs...plus it would be nice if they worked. Thanks...

I liked how they put DFA 1979 (Death From Above 1979) and The Jealous Sound on this year's edition- they're pretty sweet.
I would like to see a few of these:
Rival Schools- "Travel By Telephone" or "Used for Glue"
Brazil- "Zentropa" or "Metropol"
Hot Rod Circuit- "Versatility" or "Stateside" or "The Pharmacist" or "Flight 89"
The Receiving End of Sirens- "Smoke and Mirrors" or "The Evidence" or "Dead Man Tells No Tales"
Saves the Day- "Banned From the Back Porch" or "At Your Funeral" or "Firefly" or "Jodie"
Hey Mercedes- "Police Police Me" or "Unorchestrated"
Maybe even a little of these (More well known but not exactly popular):
Thrice- "Under a Killing Moon" or "Music Box" or
Thursday- "For the Workforce, Drowning" or "Cross Out the Eyes" or "At This Velocity" or "Autumn Leaves Revisited"
Coheed & Cambria- "Devil In Jersey City" or "The Suffering" or "Welcome Home" or "A Favor Home Atlantic"
Rise Against- "Drones" or "Broken English" or "First Drop"
From Autumn to Ashes- "Everything I Need"
Yes, this is very far fetched, but I would love to see even one of these bands make it on an 2K Sports game

If people want the game to be better, keep the soundtrack cost low! thats a no brainer. Its also sweet to find and get into band when u first here a song because they were featured in a baseball game. Like Hot Hot Heat, or the walkmen (who were on a marathon of that giant comedy show on MTV, after they were on 2k7) my suggestions would be:
Artist- Song
Dizmas- Shake It Off
The Almost- Say this Sooner
Dirty Pretty Things- Deadwood
Big D and the Kids Table- You're Me Now

DJ Khaled-100 million
I just want some new stuff on here..mostly rock, but some good rap songs are good for video games..so basically just don't throw any unheard of rappers that are terrible.Please.

This is the kind of thread I always end up discovering new music from.... it's the best thing about the "long tail" and music.... before u had to read in a magazine or hunt around in a record store to find something cool -- which made the choices always subject to the "gatekeeping" of editors and music store buyers and etc... -- which would lead inevitably to mediocrity and the prevalence of "poser music" -- i.e. stuff that you want to like because you think it's cool, not because you really like it. Music journalism especially creates high-profiles for really lame stuff, because journalists are always looking behind their backs, trying to profile something that they think in 2 years people will think they were cool for liking "way back when".... I GREATLY prefer the democratic nature of threads like these, where people simply list their tastes and you can just look something up on itunes or youtube and check it out for yourself....
:D These days I'm really into techno and techno/rock and stuff like that -- try searching for these songs:
Thomas Falke "Revolution On The Dance Floor"
Groove Cutter "My Shooter"
Control One "Just A Little Bit"
Ian Carey "Redlight"
Kevin Weg "Dead Radio"
I don't usually go for techno but these are sort of like a wierd crossover between rock and techno/trance.
Here are also some downloads with some other cool stuff too -- http://www.electricfilebox.com/tracks
