i love sega hockey, i love its gameplay and sim style. I just have a few minor ideas that would add to the greatness in my opinion.
Goalies- More animations, and a distinguishable style for each goalie. When in traffic Hasek takes up the lower half of the net and sprawls out alot, while someone like giguire is a controlled, well-positioned butterfly goalie. When in manual goalie control, have even more controls, have a dive button, i would like to be able to dive and make a save when i'm out of position, and have more desperation saves, at least more then blocker, glove, and kick saves. They are also to good, if you set up a really good clean shot, it should go in more often then not, just bump up the defensive A.I and tone the goalies down, make them have to actually make the save,
Gameplay- EA sports did an awesome job this year too. The checking is awesome, they finish threw with all checks, they can actually check into the boards, and have a system where you can either pin them on the boards or check them into the boards with two different buttons. While in the offensive zone, the defensman stand outside the zone, so if i go to pass it back to the point, i have to reset or else i get an offsides, make them offensive minded while in the zone. Maybe possibly a two person check on somebody, or a small pile up in a mad scramble in front of the net. (the diving shot thing is sweet as hell). More variety of penalties, less injuries, helmets falling off in play, breaking glass, fighting, make a system like EA's, theres is unbelievable, (i'm sure you can do better)
