Maybe no one told you, this is for music discussion.
Music --- 1. an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color.
What Juelz Santana does is certainly not art, it expresses no ideas or emotions (unless you consider "bling-bling" an emotion), it's not significant, and it certainly has no melody, harmony, or color.

music is expressing yourself through harmony, melody, and all that good ****, and music is subjective, it is not for one obnoxious white kid to decide what is music and what is not music.

Would ya'll please quit with all this elitist bullsh*t when it comes to music? Judging "good" music is just the same as judging "good" cuisine; everyone has varying tastes. Now granted, I too, am someone who thinks Juelz and Dipset are straight garbage, and contribute absolutely nothing to hip-hop, but if someone - as a fan - wants to make a thread about him, why do people always feel the need to talk down to that person starting the thread?
Don't click on the thread if you don't like the artist; it's that simple. Some of you guys walk around here like you're musical sages, sent from heaven solely to define what is and isn't good music. It gets very old, very quick; so just stop.....

its not that we want to 'talk the person down'....but rather that we want to try and educate that person on what we know is music worthy of listening to. there are several people here in 2k that used to listen to this new school trash in the past, but they took advice and now they look back at themselves and the junk they listened to and they realized it was all a joke......now theyve become very knowledgable people
we're trying to prevent cartmanclone from being sucked into "the vortex of new-school meaningless rap crap"

1.You mean what you think is good music. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean someone else won't.
2.The type of music you listen to you doesn't make you unknowledgable. I listen to the new age gangsta music and I haven't become a retard.
3.What makes it so meanigless, and yours so meaningful. If you ever heard of the song "Standing Ovation", it tells a story about the Struggles Jeezy went through and how he overcame them. Same thing with "Thug Motivation".

I know its your opinion and yes it is music or nobody would listen to it (Well its music no matter who listens to it). The thing is most of us dont like your style of music. How many times do we need to tell you this?
Also what you said for your 3rd point, Are those the only songs you can think of? Im sure Nas,2pac,Ice Cube,Biggie and Wu-Tang have come up with more meaningful songs then all the southern rappers today!

No, but we can say without a doubt that most of the stuff you listen to required little to no talent to write and produce.
2.The type of music you listen to you doesn't make you unknowledgable. I listen to the new age gangsta music and I haven't become a retard.
That's debatable, sonny boy.

Yup, you're right, those 2 songs most definitely outweigh the other 25. That's like saying "Look, that serial killer just gave someone flowers and a hug! He must be a good guy!"

1.No, who are you to say that it doesn't take any talent. IF it doesn't take talent, then I want to see you try to do it and make money.
2.Then Debate it.
3.Those 2 songs along with just about the whole album talk about that ****, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and in a sense music is beauty, so it's my judgement on what I think is good or not. Music, art and literature along with alot of things are subjective. ( Didn't thik I was deep, did you?)

KRS-One you need to listen to pollyseeds. Lord knows I got no problem with any culture, but I can't stand vultures. You HipHop? When you picked up a mic homie? When you put in work dog? Maybe no one told you, this is for music discussion.
Music --- 1. an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color.
What Juelz Santana does is certainly not art, it expresses no ideas or emotions (unless you consider "bling-bling" an emotion), it's not significant, and it certainly has no melody, harmony, or color.
^^ See, this is the cr*p I'm talking about; who deemed you two "the overseers" of what is and isn't worthy of being listened to? If someone wants to listen to a chalkboard being scratched for an hour straight, that's their prerogative to do so. Why should it matter to you what anyone else listens to?
Like I said, if you don't like the artist, don't click on the thread. Don't sit here and hate on someone because they don't have your exact same taste in music.
It's not even the fact that you guys don't like "so-and-so" that irks me, it's the fact that you consistently make these blanket statements and generalizations, as if your word holds true over anybody else's. That might not be your intent, but it certainly comes across that way in the tone of your posts.
The thing is most of us dont like your style of music. How many times do we need to tell you this?
Who gives a flyin' f*ck whether or not you like someone's style of music? Don't perpetuate it by giving it the attention it doesn't deserve, if you don't like it.
You guys swear you're so important or something...........

I never thought I'd see the day whatupb110 and Dr. Hell No would defend pop rappers who don't live the lives they promote and don't have an ounce of talent to speak of.....
PS --- I haven't 'picked up a mic' so to speak, but I write lyrics for a band, I play drums in a band, and I am a writer, words are my passion. I think that qualifies me to have an opinion, but apparently I'm wrong in my rationale.
