I guess this wasn't even put up yet. If it was, I apologize.
These aren't my poll options of choice. I'm using the same ones from another forum to compare/contrast.

It would have been nice if this post had checkboxes but I guess that wasn't your point. I think I'm one of a very few on these boards who really listen to R&B a lot. Kinda like easy listening to me. I'll listen to anything except country though. I just can't do it with country music.

t1. Rap
t1. Ska
t1. Punk
t1. Metal
Which option do I choose for that?
I chose rock, mainly because that's what I play (then again, how many rappers use live drums outside of The Roots?), and because I listen to rock more than rap, although it's about a 52/48 ratio.

I have to say that Metal(all types) is my favorite genre. Hip-hop has lost the #1 spot because I just can't get into any new stuff right now. My old school rap collection has become HUGE and I've played it to death. I have roughly 22 GB of hip-hop on my computer than that doesn't include about 50 of the album that I own. I need a break. Right now I'm going through the same fase with Metal that I did with hip-hop in 2005 and early 06. I don't like anything on the radio so I'm going back to the roots of thrash metal and getting into some of the less recognized bands. I basically soaked in hip-hop history for 2 or 3 years and now I'm doing the same with metal.

Mine is a tie between Old School Hip-Hop, basically everything prior to 1997 and Alternative Rock of today and the late 80's, early 90's. I do like Hip-Hop today, but what I like is mostly undeground or doesn't get much airplay.

Alternative rock but the thing is that it's REALLY hard to find a good Alternative band that isn't all emo'ed up or just plain old *****s.
Rap is a very close second.

Hmm ... I don't really like contemporary rythm and blues; the sub genre (as some term it): Neo-Soul is what I love.

Yeah, Spitting Games is one of my favorite songs in the alternative genre, and was the song that got me into them. I first heard it on the 2004 Baseball MVP soundtrack and was addicted to the group. But, I agree Chasing Cars is annoying, it's being played way too much by radio and it has made me dislike it. But, if you download the album Final Straw which was released three years ago, I guarentee if you like alternative, and the style of Spitting Games, you will like the album.

Haha, could you imagine if MVP 2004 online was still up?
We'd have at least HALF of the regulars here still playing that stuff including me... Those games were so much fun.

I love Hip-Hop/Rap. Once you start hearing different rhymes for example Pac songs
some of them reache alot of people to me Hip-Hop and Rap is like poetry and once you start hearin' what there really saying/explaining sometimes the beat doesn't even matter
anymore.

2- hip hop
3- Electronica & Dance
4- Japanese Rock (The Pillows are awesome!!)
5- Classical
