SMH @ Ken north

Melo was robbed for R.O.Y. Had better stats, and took his team to the playoffs the first year, should've been a no brainer, but we know why david stern gave it to queen james.

2nd, melo is the best pure scorer in the league, everyone he plays against is a mismatch, put someone smaller on him, he uses his strength and over powers him, someone bigger, he blows right by them. He can score out of the post, triple threat, mid range, the long ball, under the rim, above the rim, his game is too versatile.

He just have to keep this up and have atleast the second best record in the league and he can definently take the MVP. Cause he's definently taking the scoring title.

Rookie Years

LeBron James - 20.9 PPG 5.9 APG 5.5 RPG 1.6 SPG 0.7 BPG 0.417 FG % 0.290 3PT % 0.754 FT %

Carmelo Anthony - 21.0 PPG 2.8 APG 6.1 RPG 1.2 SPG 0.5 BPG 0.426 FG % 0.322 3PT % 0.777 FT %

LeBron and Carmelo both had great rookie years. They where close in all categories and both equally deserved the award. To say that LeBron "Stole" the ROY from Melo and melo had better stats is exaggerating. If you want to get technical the only thing melo did better then LeBron was RPG, .1 in PPG, and the percentages by a couple of points. Everything LeBron was better in, especially by APG, with 3.1 more assist a game. In my opinion LeBron had a better rookie year because he was an all around package , in Melos case he was not much of a team player yet.

LeBron caused his team to increase from 17 wins to 35 wins. Melo made the nuggets go from 17 to 43 wins. So Melo did have a greater impact. My point is you could say he deserved it more then LeBron. But by saying he "stole" it is saying that Melo surpassed LeBron. Which is not the case because they both had equivalent seasons.

Okay saying he "stole" it was a lil overboard, but he deserved it more. Basiclly, it came down to a popularity contest.

Usually the rookie with the better stats and higher overall impact on his team usually wins. Melo played in the harder conference and took his team to the playoffs, shot a slightly higher percentage from the field and scored more points, and grabbed more boards.

I just don't see why he [melo] didn't take the ROY other than lebron being the "savior" or the next big thing in the league. Atleat they both could've been co roy, it wouldn't have been the first time

Thats true and I'm not going to disagree with it you about the co roy. That possibly would have been the best scenario for LeBron and Melo to share the award.
