Key Padres

Jake Peavy

After a disapointing 2006 while going 11 and 14. Jake Peavy looks to bounce back from that horrible year. After being a Cy Young contender he should be on the look out. Can we see a great season? Can Jake do some stuff we never seen from him before? This guy can pitch till his arm falls off. A good sinker baller pitcher and still a strikeout guy, this is one person you don't want to leave off on your fantasy list.

Adrian Gonzalez

Adrian is becoming one of the best players in the league. He still needs to prove himself though. He is said to be a great power hitter in the next couple of years, he is still young and he is going to have a wonderful career to come. Gonzalez is a real good 1st baseman. Bats 4th in the lineup and that he can come up with alot of RBI's. Gonzalez needs a eye on him.

Trevor Hoffman

Its Trevor Hoffman. A great sight to Padres fans for year, its the Padres closer. Trevor Hoffman is chasing down 500 saves this year. Can he do it? Why of course. Probably the best closer in baseball. Rivera, Ryan, and Insringhausen don't even come close at all! Hoffman is the best closer. Enough said. Look for him to have a great year.

Marcus Giles goes 3-5, 2B and 2 RBI's

Marcus Giles gets his first career
RBI as a Padre against Barry Zito

Game #1

Quote:
San Francisco, CA: A great opening day to begin the season for both teams. The game started out as a pitching duel. Between the Giants new ace of Barry Zito and Padres ace of Jake Peavy. The first run was droped in the 5th by a Morgan Ensberg homer. The game was still tight. In the 6th, the Padres got another score in the 6th and never look back on that as they scored 3 runs in the 9th! Jake Peavy held strong has he got the win. The game was ended by Doug Brocail and the Padres won the game 5-0 in a shutout. Great pitching held the Giants to zipo runs and the Padres Manager, Bud Black hopes to see this continue with Chris Young tomorrow night against Matt Cain. The Padres have to remember the bats in the Giants lineup. Bonds, Winn, Roberts, and Vizquel...

spa-looshed one into McCovey Cove

Game #2
Quote:
San Francisco, CA: I think its a tradition that every April, both teams have to score alot of runs. Well, this happend tonight. Padres scored 14 dang runs in the dang game! Giants scored 7. The pitchers didn't even bring there arms. The batters probably put powder in there bats. The game was haywired. The pitchers tomorrow, Maddux and Lowry will look to keep the score super low in the next game. Good matchup. Elder vs Youngster...

Mike Cameron gets one of
his 3rd RBI of the night. Becoming the player of the game

Game #3
Quote:
San Francisco, CA The Padres came in to get the sweep will puting in new Padre, Greg Maddux with him going against Noah Lowry. The game was tight but the Padres found a way to pull out the win to get the sweep. Mike Cameron, the Padres Centerfielder, had the honor to be the player of the game. The sweep will help the Padres from here and through out the season.

"Every win counts. This sweep means everything. One of these wins could make a diffrence to any team. ...By making the playoffs..." Bud Black, saying that every win matters.
