According to my call at Microsoft, the Patch should go live on XBOX 360 tonight. We are currently in the process of checking with Sony about there patch release, and I would say to check tonight about that but that's looking more like a tomorrow release. Thank you for your patience and I am glad to provide this to you as I was hopeful of doing so.

Yes, the patch wasn't released yesterday as MS promised me, but I did have an e-mail this morning indicating they had planned to. I am not sure whether the XBOX matinence got in the way of this, but I am on the phone trying to work it out as we speak. Either way, I'd expect the release to be imminent so a little patience would be appreciated. Stay tuned to this thread for more news. Thanks.

I just spoke with my contact at MS. Patches are generally released during the early morning hours and the server mantinence held up the release of the patch last night. I want to be honest with you guys: they are expecting to release it tonight. Having said that, I wouldn't wait on them through the morning hours and I am only ready to declare the patch as being immenintely released. I told you guys yesterday that I want this to be the first place for your news, and that's why I relayed what I had been told. I guess I won't be doing that again.

Please look at my thoughts on this page. I will not be on this forum as much today, as I MUST get out the release of Top Spin 3 and work on getting some moderators in place.

As far as the Patch, I was e-mailed by Microsoft this morning that XBOX Live has been having unforseen serious issues and that is holding up the release. I have been assured when they get it up, we're on the top of their list of released patches. There are a couple threads on General Discussion that have notes about the status of XBOX Live as well. Stand by, thank you for your continued patience. Please continue to refrain from starting new threads.

All your guys conspiracy theories, while warranted because of the wait and frustration, are completely false. This patch has nothing to do with EA, any rift between MS/Sony and 2K, or the asteroid hitting Earth in 2012.The patch is not out because simply it has not been released by Microsoft. My starting a thread about the patch being approved by each console would serve no purpose that would in any way be productive for me or 2K Sports. I hope you can realize that. It was an attempt to give you news that was inevitably outside of my company's control. Continued patience would be appreciated, and threads to maintain organization. Thank you.

I am sorry for the late announcement, I was out of town on a 2K event with limited access to computers. The patch has been up for a bit now, I hope you are all enjoying it. I will be opening up a new thread where you can correspond with me about your thoughts (as long as they stay constructive) after I get caught up on my in office obligations.

I also hope you enjoyed the time to play/speak with the dev team. Please understand that they don't have the recent answers (patch related - like what the frame rate issue would resolve online, etc.) always about MLB 2K8 things because most move on to other games for stretches of time.

Also, in kind of a down note, I had to come in this morning and delete a ton of posts that were either about the patch and belonged in the patch thread OR (and more so) flame wars - both positive and negative. A lot of users are being banned for a couple days for starting these. I do not mean do be a dictator and I know the frustrations had peaked over the weekend but you need to stay within the guidelines of the forum. If you create a new account that's fine, but if you do the same offense over and over, I'll have to IP ban some people. Thanks for your understanding in this matter.

News from Ronnie: The PS3 patch was rejected, and has since been fixed and sent back to Sony last week for approval. I don't know why it was rejected, so don't ask. It should be approved this time and should hopefully be up soon. (note soon is not an actual date, so please don't anyone make up their own date. )

Not much different about the PS3 patch, except that it was re-submitted on Friday of last week. This patch does not address the framerate issue (that's still being investigated), but it does attack some different elements than the XBox patch. As for what those issues are, I do not know at this time.

Speaking of XBox patch, PR still hasn't released the patch notes yet, that is why you haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully, this will be released soon.

The title update for the online issues are still a few weeks off and have been slowed some by the devs having to working on fixing the PS3 patch and getting it re-submitted.

And finally, the roster update. 2K Sports received their roster list from the MLBPA last Friday. They are working on getting the changes made and should have something up real soon. I don't know if it will be this week though, next week looks more likely. The sooner the better, though, so I can finally start my franchise.

I have been informed that the roster update is scheduled to be available tonight. That doesn't mean that it's guaranteed to be available tonight, but we are hopeful that it will be.

Also, I have been informed that roster update are going to try to be made available each month. The next one hopefully will be out the second week of May, and then the first week of each month after that. Again, these are all tentative and subject to change, so don't hold us to them.
