I came in today and met with the development team for College Hoops 2K7, and I got to give them some ideas and get some feedback from them. Then I did the motion capture, which was unbelievable. Never experienced anything quite like it. It was very cool.
2K6 was a great game, and I think the improvements in the 2K7 model is just going to further improve the game, and I'm looking forward to the finished product and playing that.
I'll probably play Josh McRoberts first from Duke. He's a big gamer like me. Kind of sticks to sports games, but we've had many battles in college basketball and NBA basketball and so I'll play him first.
The draft in New York was one of the best experiences of my life. It's such an important moment, and it was a dream come true. It was the fulfillment of a lot of hard work and, really, a lot of luck. I feel very fortunate to be in the situation that I'm in, and I'm also just blessed that I got to experience that.
I'm very excited to be playing for the Magic. I think Dwight and Jameer Nelson are two of the best young players in the league, and we've got some good veteran players—Turkoglu and Tony Battie, Keyon Dooling, Grant Hill—so I think we have the opportunity to be a very competitive team next year.
I think a lot of emotions come to mind when I think about my first year in the NBA. I'm going to be nervous, but I think it's going to be a nervous excitement. There's a lot of doubts going into, you know, my health right now; will I be healthy enough come October for training camp? How will I adjust to the NBA game? There's a lot of question marks about me, and that just gets me excited. I'm ready for the challenge.
I've played against a lot of the great players back when they were younger and I was younger and we were in high school and AAU, and even some of the guys in college, but the one guy that I've never really met or played against is Kobe Bryant, and I'm really excited that. He'll probably torch me for 70, but I have so much respect for his game and the type of competitor that he is, that I'm really looking forward to being on the same court as Kobe.
I've met most of my teammates, and they're all great guys. I haven't had much time to discuss who plays a lot of videogames on the Magic, but I'd imagine that most of them do. It's such a part of our culture in basketball and football—I don't know of many players that don't play videogames.
I'm a very big videogamer, and to be on the cover of a videogame is a huge honor. So I'm very excited about being on the cover of College Hoops 2K7.
