Hey there 2K Sports NHL 2K7 fans. NHL 2K7 for the Xbox and Xbox 360 is shipping to stores today! I can’t wait to get my copy. I left a voice blog for you all to hear, but I am also going to give you a written version here.

June 22nd, 2006 will definitely go down as one of the more memorable days in my life. That morning, 2K Sports announced me as the cover athlete for NHL 2K7. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to be on the cover of a video game. I am sure some of my teammates past and present can attest to how much of a gamer I am. I had my family in attendance with me during our NHL 2K7 press day. We all got to see and play the game and it totally blew us away. The amount of detail that the programmers and artists put into the new skating engine changes the way the game looks and plays. It’s an incredible feel.

Later that night, at the NHL Awards Show, I was named the Hart Trophy (NHL MVP) recipient. I never could have imagined both of these happening in the same day. It is truly an honor to have received this award, and unbelievable to have two amazing career milestones happen on the same day. Thanks for taking the time to read my first blog.
