There are just two weeks left in the XM NHL® All-Star Fan Balloting presented by 2K Sports. And while some players seem to have their starting slot secured, the battle is heating up on the front lines in the voting which will determine the starting lineups for the Jan. 25 NHL All-Star Game in Montreal.
In the West, Vancouver's Roberto Luongo maintains a comfortable lead among goaltenders and Detroit's Nicklas Lidstrom and Calgary's Dion Phaneuf look likely to grab the starting spots on defense. But it's a close race among the forwards with just a few thousands votes separating Detroit's Marian Hossa, Calgary's Jerome Iginla and Chicago's Patrick Kane.
The hometown Canadiens seems to have locked up the defensive starters for the Eastern Conference with Andrei Markov, Mike Komisarek and goalie Carey Price all holding sizable leads. Meanwhile Pittsburgh forwards Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin seems likely to start up front.
Fans can cast their vote as often as they like through Jan. 2 at Vote.NHL.com. You can vote for up to six Eastern Conference players and six Western Conference players -- three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender, or select as few as one player -- a balloted player or write-in.
And after you vote, you can follow the balloting results in real-time exclusively at http://Vote.NHL.com/results. And if your favorite player starts to drop in the polls -- go vote, vote again.
